Newark Sea Cadets is a dynamic youth organisation immersed in naval traditions.
We cultivate leadership, resilience, and teamwork through transformative experiences in Powerboating, Rowing, Paddlesports, Sailing, Windsurfing, DofE, and BTEC to name a few.
Our rich heritage aligns with a commitment to Project Waterfront—a visionary initiative for a purpose-built facility.
Join us on a transformative journey where cadets flourish, learn, and lead, acquiring valuable qualifications and life skills for a brighter future.
Rooted in the rich traditions of the Royal Navy, our values revolve around teamwork, discipline, and tenacity.
We believe in empowering our cadets not only with maritime skills but with the resilience and leadership qualities that will serve them well in all aspects of life.
The story of Project Waterfront is one steeped in the rich history and unwavering commitment of Newark Sea Cadets. Born out of a desire to provide an even more impactful and transformative experience for the youth of our community, Project Waterfront has become the embodiment of our vision for the future.
The journey began in 2021, when Sub Lieutenant (SCC) Simon Cullen RNR took the helm as the Commanding Officer of Newark Sea Cadets.
Faced with the challenge of revitalising a unit on the brink of closure, Simon's leadership, along with a dedicated team of staff, breathed new life into the cadet community.
Through meticulous planning, tireless efforts, and a shared commitment to excellence, Newark Sea Cadets transformed from a struggling unit to an award-winning force.
Winning the coveted title of "Best Unit in the District" out of eight other Units for two consecutive years became a testament to the unit's resilience and dedication.
As Newark Sea Cadets continued to thrive, the limitations of the current facilities became evident.
The unit had outgrown its space, and the need for a purpose-built facility to accommodate the growing number of cadets became clear.
Thus, the seeds of Project Waterfront were planted—a vision to provide a state-of-the-art home for the cadets to learn, grow, and excel.
The journey towards Project Waterfront has been marked by unwavering community support and strategic partnerships.
Local businesses, dignitaries, and individuals passionate about youth development joined hands to pave the way for this transformative project.
Sea Cadets broadens horizons and creates possibilities through a different kind of adventure.
Working across the UK with 14,000 young people aged 10 to 18, we help them develop into resilient, confident young people who can launch well in life, whatever their background.
